Hi there fellow gamers, just when we thought peace was an option, Steam deck enters console wars. As we look towards the future, we thought the handheld market would be monotonous when it comes to Switch dominance. Boy, did we get it wrong? Who would have thought? At the same time, we heard the switch was getting an OLED screen edition Valve announced the Steam deck.
All the hype
As we might have ascertained, the Steam deck is portable, a 7-inch screen. Running with a AMD APU chip, it is built around two key AMD architectures: Zen 2 and RDNA 2.
The Zen 2 architecture is the same one found in the AMD Ryzen 3000 processors, running with Zen 2 cores capable of 8 threads. I don’t know what all of it means, but it is powerful to be in your hands. The power here will get you to 720p without much hassle.
